Volunteer Inn
The stone-built inn, with a rich history dating back 300 years, has been serving as a pub since 1709. It was given its current name in the 1840s. Despite significant interior modifications over the years, the front bar continues to feature its original, grand stone fireplace. The inn houses a restaurant named the Maharaja, which is renowned for its Indian cuisine. In addition to its regular offerings, the pub also serves guest beers, including seasonal ales from local breweries such as North Cotswold. The pub's charm extends beyond its walls to a quaint courtyard that leads to a picturesque garden nestled by a stream. The inn's location near the start of the Cotswold Way makes it a popular stop for walkers. Its blend of historical charm, culinary delights, and scenic surroundings make it a unique and inviting destination.
