The Winning Post
Located at the northern edge of Sutton Shopping Centre, this pub offers a convenient spot for a swift beverage before hopping on the bus home. Originally reconstructed by Hodgson, a brewery based in Kingston, in 1907, the pub has seen a series of changes in ownership. It was initially a Courage pub, then leased by Greene King, until Denton & Co Trustees Ltd purchased the freehold in 2017. Known as the Red Lion until approximately 2010, the pub has undergone a few transformations. One notable change was the reintroduction of real ale, specifically Greene King Abbot and IPA. However, this offering has since been discontinued. Despite the changes in beverages, the pub continues to provide entertainment for its patrons. It offers Sky TV and a pool table, ensuring there's never a dull moment for its visitors. This pub, with its rich history and modern amenities, remains a popular spot in the Sutton Shopping Centre area.
