Volunteer Inn
The Volunteer, a well-managed and welcoming pub, was initially constructed to cater to the Wantage Road Station and the Wantage Tramway's terminus. The tramway, which operated alongside the A338 until 1946, was a vital transport link for both goods and passengers into Wantage. The pub is known for its warm and inclusive atmosphere, welcoming a diverse range of patrons. Its spacious bar area is designed to comfortably serve both those who come for a drink and those who wish to dine. Under its new management, The Volunteer has reintroduced Real Ale to its offerings, much to the delight of its customers.
