Heights of Alma
The Heights of Alma, a traditional local pub, is situated near the town center. This establishment was named in honor of the Battle of Alma, which took place on September 20, 1854, marking the commencement of the Crimean War that lasted from 1853 to 1856. The pub was originally a part of the Courage chain, and the building still proudly displays the traditional Courage pub sign. Patrons of the Heights of Alma can enjoy two varieties of cask ales, served in the classic backstreet setting.
