The Wat Tyler
Located conveniently close to the railway station and adjacent to the parish church in the pedestrian-friendly High Street area, you'll find a historic pub dating back to the early 15th century. Known as the Wat Tyler, named after the leader of the Peasant Revolt, this establishment was previously called the Crown & Anchor until 1966. The pub features a narrow bar that leads to a more serene, elevated area at the back. A unique offering at this pub is Old Peculier, a beer that is not commonly found in the region. While the pub does not have a dedicated website, they maintain an active presence on their Facebook page where they regularly post updates.
