The Eight Bells
This quaint, traditional local establishment, with origins dating back to 1708, was reconstructed in 1902. Despite the renovations, it has managed to retain its original embossed windows and is adorned with various memorabilia. Interestingly, it still features the original outdoor toilets. The venue hosts a quiz night, typically scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month. It also serves as a hub for darts enthusiasts, with four teams competing weekly and their trophies proudly displayed. While the food offerings are limited, the establishment is renowned for its Sunday roast lunches. Given the popularity of these meals, it is recommended to book in advance to secure a table. The venue also boasts a charming, small walled garden, providing a tranquil outdoor space for patrons. For those who smoke, there is a comfortable heated area designated for this purpose. Please note that the establishment may close earlier than usual on Sundays, typically around 7pm.
