The Artichoke
The Artichoke, a charming 15th-century half-timbered former hall house, has been meticulously restored by Shepherd Neame, preserving its beautiful exterior. The property features unique half-timbering in the ladies' area, adding to its historical charm. A notable feature of the dining room is an original well, and there's a quaint garden at the back of the property for guests to enjoy. Located just a few yards from the end of the Great Stour Way, The Artichoke is ideally situated for those who enjoy outdoor activities. The Great Stour Way is a delightful 3-mile path that offers opportunities for both cycling and walking, connecting the cities of Canterbury and Chartham. The Artichoke is also known for its culinary offerings, with steak and brontosaurus ribs being the highlight of their Saturday night specials. For those who enjoy a bit of friendly competition, a quiz is held on the first Thursday of each month. This combination of historical charm, outdoor accessibility, and culinary delights makes The Artichoke a must-visit destination.
