The pub's historical roots are evident in the large carved timbers, which suggest that it was once part of a larger complex dating back to around 1530. The garden also features well-maintained lawns and play equipment, making it a family-friendly venue. The pub is now under new management, with the change in ownership taking place in July 2022.
