Crown & Castle
This charming flint-faced structure, which began its life as a pub and shop in the late 19th century, was sold by Greene King in 2014. During recent renovations, a previously unknown 120ft deep well was uncovered. This well, we trust, was discovered safely and has since been incorporated as a unique feature in the entrance lobby, visible beneath a protective grille. The establishment boasts classic front and back bars, both offering food service. Patrons can choose to dine in either area. The back bar serves as the public area, where games and lively conversation are the norm. This space is also dog-friendly, provided the pets are well-behaved.
