The Bounty Inn
The Bounty, an 1830 pub, stands as one of the few remaining historic inns in Basingstoke. Its name pays tribute to a generous gift from local brewer and entrepreneur, Colonel John May, who donated a parcel of land to the community, including the neighboring cricket ground. The pub has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and now welcomes patrons of all ages, serving food daily. It features a beautifully landscaped beer garden that faces south, providing a delightful spot for guests to relax. A unique feature of this pub is its Gents' facilities, which hold the distinction of being the last remaining outdoor toilet in the town.
