The Fox
The building, with its earliest sections dating back to the 17th century, has been serving as an alehouse since 1764. This charming establishment features a single, wood-panelled room spread across two levels, with a separate area dedicated to a cocktail lounge bar. The pub is situated on a spacious site, complete with a patio area, beer garden, and car park for the convenience of its patrons. The alehouse takes pride in offering a variety of guest ales, often featuring beers from smaller, local breweries. A highlight of the year is the annual beer festival, which takes place over the August bank holiday weekend. Alongside its impressive selection of beverages, the pub also serves traditional food, ensuring a complete and satisfying experience for its visitors. In addition to the pub, the building is also home to the Bengal Fox, an Indian restaurant. Although it shares the same premises, the Bengal Fox operates as a separate business. This coexistence of two distinct dining experiences within the same historical building adds to its unique charm and appeal.
