The Albany Theatre
Established in 1935, Coventry's City College is a remarkable structure, boasting beautiful Art Deco interiors and a theatre with a capacity of 620 seats. Throughout the 1980s, the College Theatre became a well-loved and fitting venue for numerous local amateur groups. However, in 2009, the college buildings and theatre faced the risk of permanent closure. Fortunately, the theatre was rescued and reopened in 2013, under the new name of the Albany Theatre. The Albany Theatre Trust, a team of dedicated volunteers, now manages the theatre, continuing its legacy of serving the local community.
