The Exchange
In a previously neglected neighborhood, a 1930s building has been revitalized. This transformation took place in 2016 when the former licensee of the nearby Ranch House took over the property as part of a significant redevelopment project. The building, which has been significantly improved and modernized, now stands as a beacon of renewal in the area. In the 1960s, the front rooms of the building were combined to create a spacious bar area. More recently, in 2021, the back rooms were also renovated, resulting in a modern and stylish space that includes pub games. The establishment now boasts TV screens in all areas, typically broadcasting a range of sports, catering to the interests of a diverse clientele. One of the standout features of the bar is the five handpulls, a nod to traditional pub culture. This, combined with the contemporary decor, creates a unique blend of old and new, making the establishment a must-visit location in the area. This 1930s building, once a symbol of decay, is now a testament to the power of thoughtful redevelopment and the potential for renewal in even the most run-down parts of town.
