The Horse & Groom
Starting from May 2023, the establishment will be under new management. The interior has been tastefully carpeted and furnished with an assortment of tables, chairs, and upholstered fixed seating. Outdoor seating has also been thoughtfully arranged, with the inclusion of comfortable garden booths. The establishment reopened its doors on 21st September 2021, after undergoing a significant refurbishment. As part of its rejuvenation, it has reverted to its original name. The establishment has a rich history, originally known as the Horse & Groom. Before that, it was called the Bricklayers' Arms until 1882. From 1984 to 1994, it was officially recognized by its nickname, the Dark House, as indicated by the sign on the east wall. However, it reverted to its original name in 1994, maintaining it until 1997. It was then that it adopted the name Kilkenny Tavern.
