Dun Cow

The pub, which is a Grade II listed building, boasts a rich history with some parts dating back to the 15th century. Its name is steeped in a fascinating tale from 995AD, when monks from Lindisfarne were in search of a final resting place for St Cuthbert. During their journey, they encountered a milkmaid who was in search of her lost cow. She guided them to Dun Holm, now known as Durham, and the pub was subsequently named in honor of the historic cow. The pub's layout includes a cozy front snug and a more spacious lounge at the back. Additionally, it occasionally offers guest beers, adding to its unique charm.
