The Sebright Arms
This beloved neighborhood pub, tucked away in the backstreets, has maintained its unique charm with distinct public and saloon bars. The establishment has recently undergone a refurbishment, enhancing its appeal and making it a must-visit spot. The garden area also features heating, providing a cozy outdoor space for patrons. However, the pub's journey has not been without its challenges. On 9th March 2016, the local authority of Barnet recognized the pub's value to the community by granting it Asset of Community Value (ACV) status. This was met with opposition from McMullen, who argued that the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) was not a qualified organization to nominate the pub for this status. As a result, the ACV status was revoked on 7th July 2016. Despite this setback, the local community rallied and successfully campaigned for the reinstatement of the pub's ACV status. Their efforts were rewarded on 16th January 2017 when the pub was once again recognized as an Asset of Community Value. This is a testament to the pub's significance in the community and the locals' commitment to preserving their cherished gathering place.
