Beaconsfield

The Beaconsfield, a structure designed by architects Alexander and Gibbon and constructed between 1886 and 1887, has managed to preserve a significant amount of its original Victorian architecture. The current island servery, which was installed in 1897, is among the Victorian elements that remain intact. Other preserved Victorian features include a spacious servery with a stillion at its center, a beautifully ornate ceiling, six cast-iron columns, and a curved lobby entrance located at the corner of the building. Additionally, the Beaconsfield boasts a substantial amount of etched mirrorwork towards its rear and several pieces of stained glass.
