The Bounty
In May 2014, The Bounty reopened its doors after being closed for almost five years. The establishment, originally known as the George Inn/Hotel, has a rich history dating back to before 1671 when it served as a coaching inn. In 1959, the original structure was entirely demolished, and a new building was constructed in its place, which was then renamed The Bounty. The Bounty has recently undergone a comprehensive refurbishment, drawing inspiration from the HMS Bounty, a ship renowned for its 1789 mutiny. The bar area has been uniquely designed to resemble the stern of the HMS Bounty, featuring dark oak panelling and newly upholstered seating. This historical theme adds a distinctive charm to the establishment, making it a unique destination for patrons.
