Whalebone
The Whalebone is primarily renowned for its magnificent and unique bar back, which prominently displays advertisements for 'Bullard & Son', 'Ales', and 'Stout' in slender mirrored panels across the top. Additionally, it features four slim vertical mirror panels. The bar counter, although refurbished with a new top, is another original feature that adds to the charm of the place. The entrance area is adorned with a red and black diamond quarry-tiled floor, which is also an original feature. The compact room situated to the right of the bar is a part of the original structure, built between 1878 and 1880. This establishment beautifully preserves and showcases these historical elements, making it a place of interest for those who appreciate vintage architecture and design.
