Sculpture in the City
The 13th edition of Sculpture in the City, the annual public art exhibition set amidst the iconic architecture of the City of London, presents 17 sculptures from a mix of emerging and established artists, transforming the City's public spaces into a vibrant open-air gallery.
Ten new sculptures by Samuel Ross, Richard Mackness, Ida Ekblad, Julian Opie (to be unveiled in September 2024), Hilary Jack (unveiled in September 2024), Daniel Silver, Seph Li, Maya Rose Edwards, and Clare Burnett join seven works retained from previous editions, by Arturo Herrera, Jesse Pollock, Victor Lim Seaward, Vanessa da Silva, Oliver Bragg and Elisa Artesero. The new sculptures include Kissing Gate by Maya Rose Edwards, which playfully brings a rural kissing gate into the urban landscape, prompting encounters between passers-by; and designer and Hublot Design Prize winner Samuel Ross' CAUCUS, a bright-yellow work that treads the line between sculpture and furniture, offering a respite for pedestrians.
Sculpture in the City is delivered by the City of London Corporation alongside LACUNA, a leading cultural studio.
